General Gaming Dragon Quest XI Reviews (PC Orchestral mod out)

1080p though. I don't mind. My system is only slightly better than the recommended. -
General Gaming Update: Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal footage (48 minutes)
crispy4000 replied to Brian's topic in The Spawn Point
People haven't cared about innovation in shooting mechanics for a long time. There shouldn't be any pressure for Cyberpunk to do it. (even if does do it ... marginally) It's just blowback from the press oogling over Cyberpunk as if it definitively stole E3. -

I didn't realize the game was so close. Total impulse buy today. -

It just looked like action Deus Ex. Which still sounds fun, but nothing I'm clamoring for. -

DQXI team can't speak for the Nier team. -
Open critic: https://opencritic.com/game/6213/dragon-quest-xi-echoes-of-an-elusive-age US Gamer: https://www.usgamer.net/articles/dragon-quest-xi-echoes-of-an-elusive-age-revie https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/dragon-quest-xi-pc/ PC version will natively support 4K. No word yet on performance, but Square's promising better than Neir Automata's PC troubles. I'm jumping in on it.

I think we'll see a price cut for the Xbox One X by the holidays. It'd probably make more sense to hold off until then. Or for Black Friday deals in general. Either way, the lines would cross by late 2020. There's a good chance we'll have next gen consoles in that timeframe. Hard to get excited about a package like this considering the future, IMO.

General Gaming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night OT

Releasing the NES-styled game was super smart. People won't complain as much, because they've already delivered something worthwhile.- 154 replies

PC Nvidia Gamescon Confrence Today - 2080 series to be announced
crispy4000 replied to Mr.Vic20's topic in The Spawn Point
Having so many different models worries me too. It's standard practice, I know. But I have to wonder if that $499 card will really be up to snuff for what its advertised for. -
PC Valve seems to be working on tools to get Windows games running on Linux

It's not a non-issue, but it's becoming less of a critical one. I'm still keeping tabs on Rainway and Moonlight as well. -

This could get even more hilarious is if parts of the apology video were plagiarized. -

1. I agree with most of that to a degree, but would still stop short of saying critics have a significant impact in the acceptance of a medium as 'serious' art. The public has the big say. Not only in determining what is profitable, but in keeping an art form active and culturally significant. 2. None of that discounts their influence on mainstream culture. Traditional reviewers don't have the same reach as they do. There's downsides, but I think the net is positive. A lot more people are staying engaged with games today because of them. 3. A breakout box like that is still badly compartmentalizing a review. Maybe as a snapshot, okay, that's fine. But game mechanics are generally too much of what makes a game good or bad to be segmented out like that. Same with technical issues, if they're egregious.
