  1. Huh, this looks like a sequel to Astebreed, but without the 3d flight sections.
  2. Waiting for more outlets, but this sounds very promising. Makes sense that former Ubisoft employees did this.
  3. My list hasn't changed much from last year. I'll pick up some of these. Psychonauts 2 Metroid Prime 4 Ori & the Will of the Wisps Life is Strange 2 Complete Days Gone Resident Evil 2 Wargroove Final Fantasy VII remake Biomutant Fire Emblem: Three Houses Indivisible Control But mostly I'm looking forward to buying more games from 2017-2018 at deeper discounts. Guacamelee 2, Nier Automata, Hellbade, Crash and Spyro trilogies, Cross Code, etc.
  4. Would this or Zero be the better entry to start with?
  5. My favorite part of the trailer. The bike stuff looks especially fun.
  6. Quick freebie strat game. Braveland: https://store.steampowered.com/app/285800/Braveland/
  7. I've always found cursor control on controllers to be bad, but have managed to get through a few point and clicks with it. I played through some Sierra adventure games on a modded Xbox. There's almost nothing to do with timing in those games though. You don't have to act on reflex. Grabbing star bits in Galaxy is almost entirely about moving the cursor to things before they disappear. There's also those bubble sequences where the cursor is used to blow air, or the gravity stars that pull you to them when clicked. Those would still be a pain with a right-stick controlled cursor even when it is the only thing to focus on. I don't know where you're getting this idea that shooters are a good comparison. Dual stick controllers are best suited for camera/movement controls. And for shooters where a targeting reticle stays at the center of the screen (more or less). Not a game where the cursor is moved independently while controlling other things. Imagine playing the Wii version of RE4 with a dual-stick controller, where the right stick controlled the targeting reticle independently from camera/turning. There's a reason why 3rd person shooters don't attempt that kind of control scheme. It's not what analog stick controllers are good at.
  8. Name me a game doing something similar that actually works well with a stick-controlled pointer.
  9. I just wouldn’t want a port of it to make the game worse. Mapping its cursor to a stick would do just that - make it a pain in the ass to play rather than the cursor being something you stop thinking about.
  10. Mario Galaxy isn't a shooter. It's a game that requires you to juggle two distinct control schemes simultaneously. (cursor pointing and 3D platforming) Point & clicks and light gun games are an awful experience on a standard controller as is. It'd be bad enough if controlling a cursor was all you had to do. I could see that being okay. But only if you paired a mouse up with a joycon, since a keyboard lacks an analog stick. If Mario Galaxy was ever ported, you'd want to play it with the joycons detached.
  11. I wonder how that worked out without the pointer controls. The spin move I could understand as a button press. But using a control stick to move a cursor around while doing other things sounds like a terrible time.
  12. Possibly to put pressure on Valve. Or because Epic moneyhatted them to stay off. It does kind of diminish their own store though. You'd think Ubisoft would want Uplay to be a bigger part of the conversation with the storefront craze.
  13. A Story About my Uncle (Steam key, Humble) https://www.humblebundle.com/store/a-story-about-my-uncle
  14. Bomberman knock off, looks okay. 32-player mode. It'll be $18 after it leaves Early Access soon: https://store.steampowered.com/app/649190/Blast_Zone_Tournament/
  15. Already have Jackbox, but Edith Finch is very welcome. It seems like they're on a something-old/something-new rotation. Anyone know if/when the Epic Games Store supports cloud saves?
  16. Kingdom Hearts would be the last big holdout if that happens. I might never buy a multiplatform game on a console again at this rate. ... well, I'll occasionally pick up something on Switch for the portable factor.
  17. Apparently indies are still selling better on Switch than any other platform. As much junk is filtering the store, the bubble hasn't burst yet.
  18. I doubt it will ever be that clear cut for games. Major publushers won’t jump on board with new titles without some serious leverage. It’d be like giving Netflix parity with movie theaters.
  19. On another note, I bought LaunchBox/BigBox and have started setting that up. All those Epic Games Store freebies convinced me to look beyond Steam as a library manager. No regrets at all. It’s so much better than Big Picture Mode. I’ll post a thread about it later.
