General Gaming What are you playing today?
crispy4000 replied to CastlevaniaNut18's topic in The Spawn Point
That’s actually good to hear. I don’t really like the direction the ‘boost’ sonic games went compared to the adventure games, so maybe I’d find more to like with Lost World. -

Nintendo Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack OT

Yes, it's very good. The Gamecube sequel is even better, but do the N64 game first. -
Sony Bloomberg: Sony is planning a new subscription service, code-named Spartacus, to take on Xbox Game Pass. It's being pitched as a three-tier service that will merge PlayStation Now with PlayStation Plus. Highest tier could include PS1/PS2/PSP games
crispy4000 replied to Brian's topic in The Spawn Point
It just sounds just like they're rebranding PS Now. I don't see how the structure is changing, although a push to make PS Now better is good. -
I still want to give this a shot. There's certain genres that I'll try a game in even if it reviews like trash. (which isn't entirely the case here)

That's exactly the sort of thing that happens when a best selling franchise makes its multiplayer free. I'll even go a step further and say the Games Pass playerbase alone could've incentivized this.

Yup, it’s a very pretty gauntlet-clone. I’d still like to check it out at some point. -

It’d still load the images though? I put a warning in the title. Looks fine on my phone. -
Using this thread in part for my own record keeping, for future pickups. I'm using OpenCritic ratings and release dates as a reference. Games with more notoriety are bolded. Getting lost in Dread is almost as hard as getting lost in Fusion. If you’ve played and enjoyed any Metroidvania whatsoever, you should be fine. The map is a little unconventional, but you get markers to place on it. If you’re not after getting most of the power-ups, you won’t need them. I beat the whole game docked without a pro controller. I have complaints with pushing the stick in to boost run, but other than that, it plays fine and eases you into the new abilities. It’s certainly not the 3DS game all over again. Dread is a whole lot closer to Zero Mission in flow and design, especially how it funnels you. I say that as someone who beat all three in the past few months. Samus Returns isn’t made redundant by Dread either. It’s not as good, but there’s some real highlights and unique elements there.

Going to be sad if one of these (now) longstanding storefronts goes away. Hopefully they'll still be able to hold on, Galaxy 2.0 is still a decent cross-store aggregator for those who don't have time for another alternative like Playnite or Launchbox.

General Gaming Black Friday - Cyber Monday Haul
crispy4000 replied to XxEvil AshxX's topic in The Spawn Point
First time in a while I didn’t buy a thing. Guardians was the most tempting. There’s too much to wait for with Amazon Prime gaming being on a roll, Epic potentially doing another 12 days of giveaways, the Winter Steam sale (I still sock away store credit), and Humble Monthly which I locked in a 3-month promotion for. -
If Sony noped out of console gaming, there would still be plenty of other consoles.
