  1. Trading cards are given out again for voting in goty awards and discovery queue. There are giveaways happening on Epic, and probably a better AAA sale there. Plus Humble Choice in January. But Steam refunds are simple enough if you need them. The biggest highlight this year might be Black Mesa for $5. There’s actually a good amount I might be picking up this year with store credit I’ve generated. There’s quite a few super cheap indies hitting historical lows. (Dicey Dungeons, Unravel Two, etc)
  2. Decided to pull the trigger on these and double dip on Hades. Might get RDR2 before the sale ends.
  3. Thinking I’ll buy the DLC for my PS4 copy. But I’ll have no PS to play it for some time.
  4. I need to purchase at GameStop with my store credit, so I’m expecting to wait at least that long to not be gouged with a bundle.
  5. Tried Enter the Gungeon after deciding I want a new rogue like. It’s not bad, but I feel spoiled with Hades. That game just feels so good from the very first hit of a run. Gungeon equips you with a pea shooter. It can’t compare to the choices Hades gives you from room to room either. I’ll still give it a go again later.
  6. Nice. Somehow I never picked this one up in the past. Edit: Also includes the superior UE4 Redux version.
  7. Accidentally posted this in the Halo Infinite thread. Anyhow... Bombslinger - If Bomberman was a rogue-like. Sounds amazing on the surface. In practice, waiting for the ability to lay more bombs, more powerful bombs, and move not slow as shit is frustrating after you die. But this might be okay if I can overlook it. Furi - I beat the first boss, tried a bit of the second. It’s the kind of indie game where the jank really shows in cutscenes. But overall, it’s a fun game. I’ll probably return to it. Project Wingman - First thing I wanted was a boost button, but nope. I used to love flight combat games, but maybe this isn’t arcadey enough for me. Bombslinger’s slow start already shot my patience for the night.
  8. Counting only the AAA games I already own. On PS5 when I get one: God of War (finish) Horizon Zero Dawn The Last Guardian Ghosts of Tsushima Death Stranding Uncharted 4 (finish) / LL Bloodborne PC short list: Rise of the Tomb Raider Doom Witcher 3 Control Gears 5 Nioh Prey Batman Arkham Knight Shadow of Mordor Halo Collection Crash & Spryo collections (finish) Yakzua series (own 0-3) Metro series AC Origins / Odyssey if I ever get around to them ( SW Fallen Order - will pick up in EGS sale ) I'm usually 2-3 years behind the curve, because that's when prices hit rock bottom. I probably play indies more than AAA these days, so it all piles up.
  9. $5 is my limit on indies like that, tbh. They’ll show up in Humble Choice/Amazon/EGS freebies within a year. Last year I ended up buying Journey to the Savage planet for $5 on EGS. The Amazon giveaway this year included all the DLC. So I’m actually glad I didn’t play the game I bought.
  10. Random selection of games today. 11. I've had two factor authentication for a while. It's a good thing. A modern storefront feature, lol.
  12. Neon Abyss | Download and Buy Today - Epic Games Store WWW.EPICGAMES.COM Download and play Neon Abyss at the Epic Games Store. Check for platform availability and price! Today's game, a nice pick up. Fuser was the game rumored, but this is good too.
  13. Series S is still a thing though. It’ll age worse than the Xbox One did. I agree it’s hard to care about the power difference between PS5 and Series X right now. It’ll be more of an issue if games ever struggle to keep 30 or if reconstructed resolutions look terrible (see: Cyberpunk). That’s not out of the question a few years from now.
  14. Watched ACG's review. Sounds like a walking, jumping, sucking simulator that doesn't go anywhere. That's kind of disappointing, but I'd be down to play it if I had Games Pass and nothing better on my slate.
  15. Tempted to get this in the EGS sale for $7. I might not hold out for Amazon.
  16. The store deals are actually pretty nuts this year. Death’s Door for $5. Spiritfarer for $5. Inscryption for $6. Hades for $6. Sable for $7. Jedi Fallen Order Deluxe for $7.50. Disco Elysium for $8. Axiom Verge 2 for $8. Forgotten City for $9. THPS1-2 for $10. Death Stranding for $11. Immortals for $14. Horizon for $15. Kena for $20. Guardians for $28. And a lot more… I’ll wait for giveaways and the Steam sale, but I could see myself picking up something here.
  17. In a nutshell, if these big companies are not looking into new (nefarious) trends to increase their profits, they’re failing their shareholders by conceding ground to their competitors. Or they do what Embracer did and say fuck that noise.
  18. I’m hesitant to touch any of them after LiS1 from the flaws I’ve heard about in passing. But True Colors looks magical.
  19. On the topic of ‘hipster shit,’ where do you all think LiS True Colors belongs in the GoTY discussion? Curious for those that played it.
  20. Most everything here was pretty meh. Except for Sea of Stars, which continues to look magnificent.
