General Gaming FSR 2.0 - Let’s try this again

Yes FSR 1.0 can be universally enabled on the deck. And on Windows too. Going by DF's review, you probably shouldn't do it on PC unless you're playing on a 4K set, at the Ultra Quality preset, with a supported (relatively new) GPU. This is why 2.0 was needed. Adding FSR 1.0 universally for PC is kind of a non-starter, IMO. It's more ideal on Deck and Switch, where the sharpened look may be more beneficial with a smaller screen presentation. -

With future/patched games. That’s the most disappointing thing about FSR 2.0 so far. -

The switch from an AMD to Nvidia chipset is what I was referring to. Because of that, they couldn’t take the easy way out to keep backwards compatibility with the prior gen, as they had a pattern of. Emulation of older hardware is another matter. The Switch’s N64 Emulator being worse than prior gens is ludicrous.

Wii U could migrate purchases from Wii. The Switch changed architecture too much for it to be straightforward. Which became convenient excuse to sell remasters. Not consumer friendly, but it's also not a big mistake. Wiping the slate clean with Switch has mostly been a boon for them.

More true than not, but I’ve also never thought Nintendo is that binary. We’ve had two generations of Pro Controllers that concede to industry standards for instance. They have a pulse on the industry, but selectively tune out the stuff they don’t want to hear. Like feedback on their online services.

Dead? Nah. They'll continue on just fine. One of the benefits of having so many voices there. -

General Gaming FSR 2.0 - Let’s try this again

These days, I'd sooner buy a weaker card with less oomph on paper if it was better at upscaling and resolving detail. On paper specs have never mattered less. Hopefully FSR 2.0 can change the narrative a little, and benefit the consoles too. I'm interested to see what Intel is doing XeSS and Arc for the same reasons. -

RSR supposedly only works with the 1.0 FSR algorithm. -
So a question, is it worth playing Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, or should I skip straight to 3?

The most recent rumors suggest that whatever Switch comes next will have both. Check the Nvidia leaks. Nintendo haven't said anything about raytracing, afaik. We wouldn't know they're not interested until we see they weren't. -

Yeah, I think you're right. Don't see why they'd leave them out though, when they've been paired with CUDA cores since the start. -
They tried to double the price of Gold not that long ago, before most of these acquisitions. I think that shows that raising prices is on their minds. You can't truly follow the Netflix model without Netflix price hikes once you own the space. GP probably wouldn't bolster DLC sales all that much, given the lack of ownership of the games themselves. Maybe for 1st party games permanent to the service it matters, but we haven't seen Microsoft push too hard on that really. (thankfully) Then again, they did buy CoD...
