    Here's a thread for games that might be worth a look within the glut of showcases/announcements. Beneath Oresa - Another turn based card battling game (Rogue-like?). It's the presentation here that truly makes it stand out. Verge World - 3D on-rails flight shooter, which we don't see enough of. I don't love the aesthetic, but it could be cool. Poinpy - Mobile game from the creator of Downwell, who famously was hired by Nintendo (then left). Wanted: Dead - Want a new cheesy PS2-era character action game from Japan? Here you go Comes from ex Ninja-Gaiden staff... but could be another Devil's Turd. River City Saga: Three Kingdoms - Everyone is talking about TMNT for good reason, but it's not the only classic brawler coming back.

    Maybe there will be something interesting here with Epic's recent publishing deals? Or just a bunch of MTX they'll try to sell you. EDIT: Don't bother. Nothing new from Remedy, Playdead, or the ex-Team ICO group.

    Wouldn’t call it lazy in execution, only conceptually, similar to the Shadow of the Colossus remake.

    I’m pretty sure Devolver had more interesting showcases this year than Geoff.

    I really enjoed DQXI, got the true ending. Its really polished game, and the perfect throwback JRPG. There’s just elements to Xenoblade 1’s world design and plot that put it on another level entirely.

    Yeah, then definitely start with 1. Top-tier JRPG. Better than DQXI, IMO.

    If this is your first Xenoblade, start with the remake of 1 on Switch. It's fantastic, plus there's things in 2 (and presumably 3) that you'll get more out of if you do.

    Oil rigs and boats. Probably not the best setting choice either for a demo like this. So bland, you've seen it in countless games before.

    I've only played Adventure 2, 100%'d it years ago. It's not bad. I thought the Tails/Eggman sections were okay too, but the Knuckles stuff was a pain.
