How was Genesis Noir? Mildly curious about that one.

I’m sure it was an Epic giveaway at some point. That’s where I’m playing it.

Only problem I have with this is that it’s going to be a pain posting from mobile with gaming news as it happens, especially the sort where the Twitter post itself is the news. Screencap, crop, save, upload, copy link. Repeat if multiple threads are worth copying. On a desktop I don’t mind.

More Ghostbusters Remastered and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. Doubt I'll finish Luigi by for Haloween, but Ghostbusters is a maybe.

Let me rephrase then. Were there any ~30fps games you played on last gen consoles that felt like they had major performance issues compared to Gotham Knights? Asking to know what your personal tolerance for this stuff is. Such as, you can handle Gotham Knights but Just Cause 3 was beyond the pale.

Don’t know why you keep tagging him. Yeah, I’m still curious what recent games rubbed you the wrong performance-wise worse than this. Might want to try it someday.

Just because I’m curious, are there any 30fps games you played in recent memory where performance drops felt more significant?

That’s one way to look at it. I might be more excited to play the games from the last 2-3 years that haven’t hit the price range I’d buy them. Still waiting on Obra Dinn for example.

Almost forgot. Xenoblade 3 stand-alone DLC. If it’s anything as good as Torna, this might be my most anticipated.

I’m curious how Forspoken will work out, in the same way as Sonic Frontiers. Not expecting greatness, but perhaps a fun time that feels different to run around in than most other stuff. Tears of the Kingdom and FF16, naturally. Flintlock looks fun. I like the idea of gun combat in a souls-like, and the aesthetic appeals to me. Sea of Stars looks spectacular. Hopefully the first indie Chrono Trigger inspired game that lives up to its potential. The Suikoden and Elysium stuff too. Jedi Survivor should be great. Been thinking of playing more of the previous game recently. Teslagrad 2 is a thing apparently. I’ll be all over that. Whatever that rogue-like apocalyptic driving game that Sony showed lately. Forgetting the name. Little Devil Inside if it gets pushed. Plucky Squire is another indie I’m keeping an eye on.

Could be you’re not that sensitive to it. Because it’s been corroborated by a lot of tech reviewers now that the stutters, frame time issues, drops, etc are very much present. Here’s NX Gamer’s take:

It’ll just feel like any basic Metroidvania at the start, almost to a fault. But if you like the feeling of Super Metroid or Prime when you get deep into the depths, there’s no game that does it better. Samus Returns is the closest modern analog I’ve played to its vibe. But it’s nowhere near as good.

I'm cursing around there looking at Square and Atlus stuff, could have sworn I've seen pretty much everything there much cheaper on GMG. Might just be those publishers. It seems like you generally could save a little compared to authorized sellers. But not once games start hitting bundles.

No big surprise for Games Pass, it was going to happen eventually. They were already (over) eager to change their pricing structure with Gold. It's more interesting that he brought up games and the consoles themselves in regard to price hikes. Haven't tried CD keys yet. The unsubstantiated fear of getting a bad region key turns me away. It's also pretty easy to find any semi-old game I'd want in a bundle or giveaway. It's the publishers that mostly opt out of that stuff like SquareEnix that leave me wanting.

And what a game that is. Hope you enjoy it whenever you get around to it. It's Super Metroid writ large, which isn't for everyone.

Beat Hollow Knight, Tomb Raider, Life is Strange, Bastion and Psychonauts. Watched someone else play through Bioshock when it came out. Gave up on Darksiders about halfway through, can't remember why. The rest I own outside of some Bethesda stuff: Skyrim, Fallout 4 and New Vegas (rumored to be a Prime giveaway next week). I'm not really itching to get to any of the rest anytime soon. Maybe Portal 2 and Arkham City, since I beat the previous entries.
