  1. You're not totally off on that. Critics collectively dump on 3D Sonic as something middling to painfully average. Even Colors and Generations couldn't crack an 80 average. Might as well add a full point to the scale if you've enjoyed these games in the past.
  2. I've still got so many sonic games on the backlog (Generations, Lost World, finishing Colors), but boost era Sonic has never appealed to me as much in the little I've tried. Even if this isn't perfect, I'm really glad they went a new direction. Hopefully a sequel (or PC mod) can fix the pop-in.
  3. The price controllers should be. Fuck off games industry charging the price of a new game. This is great.
  4. Said they were working on it before they knew of DLSS3. I think the proximity of the announcement means they’re probably not lying. FSR took a long time to be announced after DLSS was a thing. But I agree we won’t see it soon.
  5. https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-rx-7900-xtx-is-rtx-4080-competitor-fsr3-may-be-supported-by-pre-rdna3-architectures Transcribed from interview
  6. I'd like to play HL: Alex one day to experience it. I'm sure it's fantastic. But this: Strikes me as trying to fit a large square peg in a small round hole. Its the sort of thing that's turned me off from the VR experiences I've had so far. It's good to have control options, and I've enjoyed games with a contrived learning curve before, so maybe I'm being a hypocrite here. But it's not where VR should strive to go, IMO. I know there's some controversy about Call of the Mountain being more rail guided and not using teleporting (if I have that right?), but I'd see it as a good thing.
  7. Haha, maybe I'll join you. How far did you make it? Probably 1/3 of the way through on my end, looking at the chapter titles.
  8. I've found it to be a hard game to return to if you haven't played in a while. I also think the loot aspect feels like an unnecessary chore that doesn't fit the core game design. That's my excuse for not beating it yet, but I've got a PS5 now, so I really should get back to it soon.
  9. There's also the chance that their solution fixes the vsync/lag problem before NVIDIA's. We still don't know if it's actually using AI either, or even if it requires RDNA3. I really want this tech to get to a point where 60fps w/ frame generation is indistinguishable from raw 60fps. But the language AMD used doesn't give me hope.
  10. Excited to see them (presumably) going down the frame generation route. But nothing was said as to how they'll address input lag.
  11. TMNT Game's Infamous Dam Level Couldn't Even Be Beaten By Its Co-Creator SCREENRANT.COM TMNT's dam stage was too hard for its co-creator. Nah, that one is legitimately ridiculous.
  12. It does on the whole, but something about its approach to particle effects doesn't seem to play nice with the upscaling. I'd be curious to see what the PC version with DLSS looks like.
  13. The true ending part was great. Best non-DLC expansion packed into a game. I love it when SquareEnix isn’t greedy.
  14. Shadow Tactics and Alba next week. Alba: A Wildlife Adventure on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM Even the smallest person can make a big difference. Join Alba, as she sets out to save her beautiful island and its wildlife. And possibly start a revolution.

  16. I'm just gonna rub this one in No way I was going to do new game+ runs. The persistent upgrades eventually can push you over the top for the main game though. Enter the Gungeon I gave up on full stop. I think that's a much more difficult game. I've got no patience for it.. but still not as bad as 20XX.
  17. I think the capability to do cool things with VR is much greater, in fairness. It's already proven that. But I question its momentum with gaming, here in 2022. And the price of PSVR2 surely doesn't help.
  18. My edits to your statement reflect my skepticm at the moment. I don’t believe VR in the gaming space has convinced us yet, in its applications, that it’s something essential enough to have longevity. At least not in the way it’s biggest proponents would want or may even expect. It feels like we’ve been down this road before to me, and we’re due for a pullback.
