  1. Eh, that's a minor gripe. The 'big deal' is that you'd always start and return to player control without cuts in highly choreographed, single-shot cutscenes. I don't think Dead Space stole GoW 2018's thunder in that. Just how games with QTEs didn't necessarily negate Uncharted 2's impact. But they aren't paradigm shifts either.
  2. Deals - My Nintendo Store - Nintendo Official Site WWW.NINTENDO.COM Score great savings with sales and deals in the My Nintendo Store. Explore discounts and special offers for games, merchandise, accessories, and more. Live. Good luck finding good deals relative to other platforms.
  3. I don't think it's totally meaningless. I always find it jarring in games when there's fade to black moment that cuts into gameplay. Even more when they try to match the visuals at the end of the cutscene to when you take over. Just recently Xenoblade 3 did it where you'll end cutscenes going directly into the battle scene. I love that kind of thing.
  4. After watching DF's video and seeing Alex's optomized settings, MM seems like the type of game you really shouldn't need something better than a PS5 for. Once we start getting into next-gen exclusive stuff, I'm sure I'll get more FOMO.
  5. Black Friday pickups and EGS redemptions. Likely to receive Sackboy and GoW:R for the holidays too! I have this next week off of work, excited to dig into some stuff.
  6. I’m stubbornly holding out for a patch (that will never come). Wish I had the vanilla PS4 version, but I’m stuck with a PS5 physical copy.
  7. How hard is Returnal compared to Hades? Still getting it, just curious. That's the one I used a $10 coupon for. Sounds about as long as the Spider-Man DLC before it, which I enjoyed a lot.
  8. One of the best exceptions in recently memory is Agent 64, out soon. I normally hate games that go for PS1/N64 style aesthetic, and I'll even stray away from crt filters in emulated 2d games. But playing the demo of this, somehow they nailed that N64 vibe perfectly with their filters. And still use some modern lighting techniques. Goldeneye as you remember it, not how it was. It's fantastic. I think I may even prefer it with the CRT filter on.
  9. Yeah, on second thought, Zelda is out too soon. I'm sure both Horizon and Immortals will be a little cheaper in the future, but I have a gift card burning a hole in my wallet. Going to go for the following: - Horizon FW - Ratchet - Returnal - Spider-Man MM $100, after another $10 off coupon at GS used on Spider-Man. I think I'm most excited for Returnal.
  10. Should I go for Immortals complete for $25 or Horizon FW for $30? I wouldn’t touch Horizon until I played the first one, which I haven’t started.
  11. Is the DLC good? That's the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on this. If I like it enough, I'd rather not pay more for the season pass than the base game. Season Pass is $40 right now on PSN. Gold Edition with Season Pass is $25...
  12. I really felt hesitant going into XB3. Without a Switch Pro, I was convinced I'd need to suffer through it. But because the issues are so marginal, IMO it's best to play it on the hardware for the option of going portable, where it also holds up well. I ended up doing that a lot for a large portion of the sidequests.
  13. Performance is entirely acceptable in XB3. Yes, there are occasional framerate dips when the action gets heavy or the scenery is imposing, but nothing worse than BoTW. And since you're still mainly inputting commands, performance drops never truly get in the way if/when it happens. Better yet, the IQ is pretty darn good for a Switch game. Which is a complete turnaround from XB2 being a smeary, smudgey mess.

  20. Far Cry 5 (PS4/PS5) https://www.amazon.com/TEST-2020-1-PlayStation-4/dp/B08FS6BB8W/ $10 I’m noticing that some of these deals are going in and out. If it’s not part of a flyer ad and something you’d really want, I’d recommend you pull the trigger when you see it.
  21. DF did suggest that Series S could force devs to make more creative use of the SSD to deal with the RAM shortcomings. And that those benefits will be paid forward to the big boy machines. ... It's a nice thought, at least. Kind of doubt this is where things will end up. As I've said elsewhere, I'm expecting devs will turn apathetic toward Series S optimization as the gen goes on.
