  1. If that line about the Bethesda acquisition and Europe is true, then I definitely see why they’re fighting it. This was also 3 years ago. Microsoft plans to cool it with Xbox games coming to Switch and PS4 – Destructoid WWW.DESTRUCTOID.COM Focusing on its platform first and foremost Don’t expect to see more Xbox first-party games on other consoles anytime soon.... If I’m not mistaken, the only games they’ve published on rival consoles since were Psyconauts 2 (as promised to backers) and Minecraft Dungeons. Deathloop was under a previous contract.
  2. Generally no. I finish most of the games I start, and don’t invest too much time in games I don’t enjoy. Enslaved is one I feel a bit bad about. My GPU died, and I never bothered to pick it back up again. It’d feel weird returning to it half way through, I’d probably start it over. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on the DS is another. I had a whole job level schema set up, but never saw it through. I’m a bit hesitant to get into tactics games again for that reason. Radiant Historia, I think I somehow glitched the game out and went down a path I couldn’t continue from. Shame, but a DS game is hard to return to today. God of War 2018… I find it’s a hard game to pick up after I haven’t played it for a while. I stopped when the PS5 was announced, I wanted to save it for that. Most recently, Ghostbusters. I’d like to finish it, but we’re well past Haloween now, and well, it’s not that good.
  3. 3 might actually be my favorite, it's delightful cheese and jank. I fell off 4 pretty hard. Took itself too damn serious, especially with stealth. One day I'll get back to it.
  4. Chained Echoes Critic Reviews OPENCRITIC.COM Chained Echoes has been reviewed by 4 critics and currently has a 'Mighty' rating. Read and browse them all to learn what the top critics in the video game industry are saying. Sounds like something special. On Games Pass this month as well.
  5. Yup. Activision got greedy with their own storefront, but Microsoft already threw in the towel. The acquisition meant CoD was returning to Steam.
  6. Valve’s in the right here. They don’t need a deal signed just so Microsoft scores brownie points with regulators. Nintendo on the other hand was probably chomping at the bit. 3rd parties are only there for them when their platform is a breakthrough success. Even then, mainstays like CoD, Madden and GTA are spotty at best for them.
  7. Don't doubt it's underrated, but a lot critics didn't come away as positive, so I'm not surprised.
  8. Call of Duty has been left off Nintendo platforms for almost a full 10 years: CoD Ghosts on Wii U released in 2013. Sounds like a play to stave off regulators.
  9. From the podcasts I listened to this year, Rogue Legacy 2 seems like one of the most undeservedly snubbed indies so far. Maybe because it’s too derivative. Maybe because Vampire Survivors exists. Rogue Legacy 2 Reviews OPENCRITIC.COM Rogue Legacy 2 is rated 'Mighty' after being reviewed by 54 critics, with an overall average score of 89. It's ranked in the top 2% of games and recommended by 100% of... It’s Polygon’s #8.
  10. Speaking of getting robbed… I’m sitting here wondering why any JRPG this year is beating out XB3. So many lists are leaving it out of top 10. Should be a shoe-in IMO. At least Game Awards is giving it the recognition it deserves. I could see Kirby being top 10 for me. But I’m not paying full price for a second Switch game this year.
  11. Play Ubisoft Games You Own on Amazon Luna NEWS.UBISOFT.COM The cloud platform now lets you play Ubisoft PC games you already own on Luna, without worrying about downloads. Maybe we see something like this for GoG, Origin and Epic in the future, considering they've given away codes on those platforms.
  12. Sure, but we know a price increase is on the horizon for that too. It's absurd that you can pick up Horizon 2 for $30 right now. PS4 version with free upgrade... but still. With these kind of drops still happening this gen, there's very few games I'd be willing to spend the full $70 on. Things are so much worse for Switch 1st party games.
  13. I’m strongly considering trading in my PS5 copy of Elden Ring for $30 and getting a PS4 disc version at Walmart for $45. Is it worth it for framerate stability? Note: I haven’t played the game yet, not sure how sensitive I’d be to the dips.
  14. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope - $40 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09742H73B
  15. You can absolutely beat those Steam sales if you know where to look. One of the best deals recently was a 30% off everything coupon at Voidu during Black Friday week. They already had historical lows on many games, with the coupon it easily beat CDkeys. ... I'm still waiting for Epic to bring back those $10 off coupons, which they haven't in a while. If you don't mind an EGS key, you can get some of the best deals on newer stuff that way. I regret not picking up Rogue Legacy 2 and Outer Wilds the last time for like $5 a pop.
  16. There's nothing to say that you can't make a game like that fun. But the less a game relies on exploration, the more it has to lean on the core mechanics being engaging. Sounds like a target switching mechanic is sorely needed, at the least.
  17. Day 4: Deathloop PS5 for $10 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/video-games/video-games-on-sale/pcmcat1649105798442.c?id=pcmcat1649105798442
  18. Gameplay here looks a somewhat suspect. The source material is some dress up anime mobile thing. But a former Zelda director is the lead. And the environments look like this: What a crazy time for this industry.
  19. Only game I played from this year was Xenoblade 3, which I pegged as a 9.5/10. So I’m happy to see it in the running at least when it shows up.
