  1. I have really hard time envisioning the sort of PC gamer where a 4070ti wouldn’t meet their needs but a 4080 would. Maybe some years in the future? But then it might be best to save that $400 off the top for a new card.
  2. I thought the arguement was more that 4080 was a shit deal compared to 30xx cards on sale, performance per dollar. I suppose now you could also say it’s a shit deal compared to a 4070 TI. There’s no way a 4080 is worth $400 more.
  3. If I were to buy a card soon (I probably won't), I wouldn't consider that labeling relevant at all. There's plenty of cards that can be ignored if you don't take the gen on gen comparisons too literally. I'd sooner think of this card as a better 3080 with DLSS3. Seems like a good card for someone like me primarily interested in 4k60 gaming, and a much better option for price vs. performance than the 4080. $800 is still way too much for me to stomach though. It's only a 'good' MSRP in a terrible time for GPU pricing.
  4. How far are you in? I don’t feel the same about the combat, but maybe that’s because I’m still not far enough. (And haven’t played a fromsoft game) I like the slides, they’re not nearly as excessive as something like PoP 2008. I’m really digging the map design as well, it’s nice to play another 3D Metroidvania that understands how to do it. Though I’m with you on cosmetics rewards for secrets being dumb. It’s worse for those rare times it can be a life or force upgrade instead.
  5. Evil Within 2 is free with Amazon Prime this month, among a few others (ie: Beat Cop, Chicken Police, etc) Humble Choice is also up, looks stellar.
  6. I’ll always root for games with a genre swap up for the developer. We really do need to see it though. It came from a time when Microsoft was still using CG teasers to help their studios decide on a vision, like SquareEnix did two gens ago. I’d like to see what the Perfect Dark reboot is too.
  7. Doom Eternal, Olli Olli World w/ DLC and Tribes of Midgard are supposed to be in the next Humble Choice.
  8. One more sale of value: Immortals w/ season pass (Uplay) $12 at Amazon I ended up buying it with some gifted credit.
  9. I’ve only played Returnal. I feel like it’s best to play another game in alternation with it.
  10. Didn’t beat a single game in the past two months. I’m starting to get to the point where the backlogged games I really want to play are at least 10 hours long. Hope to finish Fallen Order soon though. I watched Obi-Wan and Andor over the break, and it’s fun to be playing something good set in that time period. It feels even more Star Wars in some ways, think it’s the music being better.
  11. Daymare: 1998 on GOG.com WWW.GOG.COM DAYMARE: 1998 is a third-person survival horror with hardcore survival mechanics and ha
  12. It’s just Dishonored 1 and some rts/fps hybrid called Eximus. These are live for a week, then it’s the Shadow Tactics stand-alone expansion and Kerbal Psace Program.
  13. I’d love that. There’s been a bit of a Bethesda complete-the-franchise thing going on across services this year. As long as you’ve got a multi-launcher app (ie: Playnite, GoG Galaxy, Launchbox) it’s easy to keep track of.
  14. Mortal Shell is up for today. Speculation is something Dishonored related tomorrow, which is ironic considering Amazon's giveaway. Overall the freebies this year were fantastic IMO. Just as good as prior years. I'll probably buy that Death's Stranding Director's Cut DLC to throw them a few bones.
  15. It was more a maximization thing. Idea being you could strafe and dodge without moving your thumb to the face buttons.
  16. Do you have a recommended control set up? I watched a guide that moved the dash button to one of the triggers, but could never get used to it. Like Metroid Dread, I kinda feel like it uses too many buttons for its own good. Also like Dread, it feels fantastic regardless.
  17. Super Mario World is another I forgot. I don’t think momentum based 2D platforming has ever been done better.
  18. As much as I prefer Project M to it, there’s something about the way the camera zooms and pans that still just feels so right.
  19. Mine is heavily skewed by card farming, at least it shows I put in a good amount of time into Psyconauts 2.
  20. For video games, got Sackboy and God of War R. Gave Guardians of the Galaxy.
  21. No long jump feels bad. Not a fan of the turn around jump either, too pole vault-like. I’m a defender, but definitely not to me. It would be fun to see a modern game where you move faster when staffing though. We got close with Fallout 76, where you once moved faster looking at the ground.
