Kamala Harris wants to extend school by 3 hours
Dodger replied to Dodger's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
I don’t know if they still do it but I had 6 week winter breaks when I went Cal State Fullerton. I assume it isn’t because of winter heating costs. But they were still on a two semester system too which sucked. They dragged on forever. -

I don't know what I want to play. In one of those ruts where nothing is really clicking at the moment. Not into Outer Worlds like I thought I would be. Maybe I'll play some more Ruiner this weekend. -

I'm not saying teachers aren't qualified to do it or we shouldn't want them to do it, just how many teachers are going to sign up for a 10 hour day, for what sounds like will be normal and not OT pay to do it? Also, as long as we're screening people properly so to not be hiring child abusers, someone with a high school degree is fine to watch your kids for 2-3 hours while you're at work. -

Sure, but it's ran by the actual teachers, and I have no doubt after spending all day teaching your kids, teachers want to then literally baby sit them as well. What's that Canada program that we had a recent post about? How about we just give parents money or a credit for actual after school daycare programs. I was basically raised by day care, and I turned out fi Wait what. -

They would get paid if they took the additional shift, at the rate they get paid for their normal shift. So they would get paid, but not any kind of overtime. -

Yes it's free daycare instead of actually sending kids to 3 additional classes or whatever. It's still forcing this on teachers instead of just creating some sort of separate after school day care program, which is what it should be. -

So we just wasted all this time to say that people basically only need a separate driving test for trucks and suburbans, and that the guy with 90,000 posts will argue about anything. -

Yes using the absolute extreme edges of vehicles makes a great point, and I bet every year millions of Toyota Echo owners become dangerous monsters when they trade the echo in for a 7000+ pound truck. -

Well define car class. If I pass in my Ford Fiesta am I good for a Honda Accord? Those are bigger. Or we going to break it down by coupes/sedans/Trucks/Suvs? OR by weight class? Also, I had a honda 1991 honda accord when I was 16, and then a 2017 Honda accord later. That 2017 had over double the horsepower over my first car. Am I still safe? Even though it was in the same class, it's a way different car 26 years later. Good thing I actually ended up taking the test in my dads Urban Assault vehicle (suv) so I'd be cleared to operate a heavier class despite the fact I never drove it again. Also, at least in CA they do require you to re-take the written test for various reasons, which isn't the same as the driving test but really, the driving test is like 10 minutes and only a monumental moron wouldn't be able to pass some bs driving test in a suv versus a regular car, and it wouldn't say anything about their ability to drive either. Then again I'm constantly amazed at how many people manage to fail the driving test multiple times as it is... I came to AZ and was given a license until I'm 65 with no testing whatsoever. So maybe let's not get that lax. -

I got my license 20 years and 4 cars ago. Are you saying every time you buy a new car you need to take the drivers test again in that new car? Because good luck with that. -
I'm finding the game a chore to play, not sure how much more of a chance I'll give it, which sucks because I was super excited when MS acquired Obsidian. So far I've gotten the first two story achievements where you make your big choice between the corporations and the little guy fighting them, and of course in both instances they turn out to be dicks too. It's like Far Cry 4 without the crazy over the top villian to keep entertained that I oddly sympathize more with than any of the heroes. I ended up killing both those tools at the end of FC4 and letting the bad guy escape since both endings were fucked no matter who you worked for. This "both sides" BS is just making me want to kill everyone and just go do whatever. I'd probably have more fun that way.
