  1. I'm hoping DLSS takes it up to around 70FPs (obviously without RT). OH, side note, I can't enable HDR in shadow of the tomb raider. IT stays greyed out, do you have this issue? Edit: never mind, I figured it out! You need to turn HDR on at the windows level before you start the game launcher, for whatever reason?
  2. I'm not surprised by these numbers, as they basically fall in line with what I was expecting from a raw FPS bump between generations. On the Titan V, I'm running Shadow of the Tomb Raider at around 55FPS, fully maxed out in 4K. So to see the 2080ti edge it out by a few frames seems right, as that puts it at around 40-50% than a 1080ti. For reference, the Titan V is about 25-30% faster than the 1080ti. I can say that I'm truly impressed with just how shitty Mass Effect: Andromeda runs! Well done Bioware! Even next gen's cards can't quite run it properly. ahem, can't wait for DLSS patch on some of these games!
  3. Wow, she won in my county, Tompkins. Who knew we had so many Sex in the City fans.
  4. Very cool ! The long term benefits of this tech are the only way I see us ultimately getting to 8K and beyond! Intelligently regulated asset quality management, as apposed to a brute force technique. And I'm particularly glad they are getting on this now, "before its ready" ()! Can you imagine the kind of hardware needed for 8K at 60fps?! Good lord, even I know to avoid the death bath that will be the push for 8K, and that is saying something! And for those who believe we will merrily bop along using the classic "Go smaller to go faster", we are rapidly running out of runway for that particular approach. Economizing leaps in power will become increasingly challenging with existing tech approaches.
  5. As far as I can tell they were very upfront about no SP campaign, so no, you are correct on that point. Dropped or not though, it is missing.
  6. That's cool and their call of course, but this will be the first time since 2012 that I didn't buy the yearly COD. I like my Popcorn AAA SP fall titles.
  7. And PC Gamer has a "Deep" dive into the Turing Architecture as well: https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-turing-architecture-deep-dive/?utm_content=buffera55d9&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=buffer-pcgamertw
  8. engadget has a piece up on DLSS! Good read. https://www.engadget.com/2018/09/14/nvidia-rtx-mesh-shaders-dlss-tensor-cores/
  9. Dauntless developer says DLSS results are very promising at 4K resolution. This is in regard to maintaining IQ while increasing FPS. Good stuff! https://wccftech.com/nvidia-dlss-huge-boost-4k-dauntless/
  10. Its definitely hit or miss, but it still has its moments!
  11. That is a fascinating approach to aligning the police department's budgetary limitations with the public's needs!
  12. This game looks amazing maxed out in 4K/60FPS! very nice treat!
  13. You know, it was all there in the title and your implication, but I'd still gamely hoped for a different, out...come? damn it.
  14. Yes, yes! That is what I was trying to say, except your version made sense when read from left to right!
