  1. A motorway bridge has collapsed in the northern Italian city of Genoa, in what the country’s transport minister said was likely to be “an immense tragedy”. An 80-metre section of the Morandi Bridge on the A10 motorway came down in an industrial area of the port city during a sudden and violent storm at about 11.30am.
  2. The notion that the Kabul government actually controls 56% of the country is laughable. The government in Saigon "controlled" the majority of South Vietnam as well.
  3. The Revolutionary Communist Party that I found myself among would probably beat to death anyone who dared call them members of #TheResistance
  4. A fresh plunge in the Turkish lira sent tremors through global currency markets on Monday, amid fears that the failure of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government to tackle its worsening financial crisis would have a domino effect on other vulnerable countries.
  5. Unless the #Resistance is willing to guillotine their Trump-supporting neighbors by their own hands or -- more importantly -- sacrifice their own families for the cause, they should stop using that word to describe themselves.
  6. Because: (a) it's a serious pain in the ass to move (b) it's kinda/sorta "fun" to watch/participate in this conflagration I well and truly have no "hope" whatsoever, but that hasn't stopped me yet from active engagement, has it? To hell with "hope" - it's a pretty, empty four-letter word that's the refuge of the fearful. It's only when all hope is lost and when the battle is based on something (anger/revenge/honor/etc.) other than that hollow vessel can there be any chance of victory.
  7. Obama: more qualified due to previous experience in Illinois legislature Clinton: this is more difficult, but probably more qualified due to previous professional experience and "active" policy roles in Arkansas and White House
  8. The Nazis didn't really have noodle arms - they were just plain fat.
  9. Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth are no longer boldly going where no person has gone before. The two actors were in negotiations to star in Star Trek 4, but sources say that talks between the two actors and the companies making the new installment, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media, have fallen apart, with both sides walking away from the table.
  10. Being "qualified" has absolutely nothing to do with one's personal moral, political, etc. assessment of policies or outcomes.
  11. In what way? Seriously, tell me in what way does that make him "far more" qualified for the presidency?
  12. I would've gone to see it this past weekend, but I was busy throwing empty water bottles at real Klansmen
  13. The Imbecile at least has something resembling experience with a large organization which is something the Guido Lawyer cannot say for himself.
  14. Are you goddamned kidding me? This is an area where the Imbecile beats this Guido Lawyer without a second thought.
  15. The crux of Bethesda's argument is that he is selling the product as "new" which only authorized resellers can claim. There would be no issue if he listed it "like new, still in shrinkwrap".
